Job Description: Job Responsibilities :
- Provide design, implementation and support for routers, switches, and controllers, including monitoring, annual hardware and software refresh budgetary estimates and expansion or upgrade of existing infrastructure.
- Participate in Security and Control related tasks such as audit and network infrastructure improvements
- Implements network changes to production devices, including planning, change management, configuration and troubleshooting.
- To be a resource for projects, i.e. plan and carry out network implementations
- Implement medium to large enterprise data networking infrastructure projects adhering to standard designs
- Develop and perform implementation activities for projects including fail-over testing
- Develop and implement non-standard work-arounds for production problems
- Identify operational problems resulting from design decisions from various sources (monitoring, trouble tickets, customer complaints, etc.) and report them back to evaluate solutions to these issues.
- Implement circuit upgrades which introduce changes to network design, hardware, telecom service provider or circuit technology changes.
- Identify and develop automation opportunities using existing tools e.g. BNA, Orchestration. Also maintain the related process documents
- Primary contact for vendor TAC in support of operational problems
- Responsible for quality hand-over of implemented device/technology to the Network Operations team
Primary skill set:
• Solid experience with CISCO or Juniper technologies (routing, switching, WAN/LAN protocols, Wireless etc.)
• Familiar with medium and large enterprise networks
• Familiar with optimization and performance with focus on capacity planning, performance monitoring and automation
Nice to Have skill sets :
• CCNP routing and switching certification will be an added advantage
• Programming/scripting : Python, Ansible
