Role Objective
This position is for a senior DB2 database administrator working exclusively on DB2 platform. The function requires someone who is self-sufficient in the provision of infrastructure support. He’ll provide DB2 host/instance build and replication configuration which will be required in performing this role. The applicant is expected to have experience with data modeling, schema implementation, DB2 programming, data migration, performance.assessment and delivery of various technology domains. The ideal Enterprise Architect possesses vast experience in a professional services and solution selling environment and has a background that illustrates extensive capabilities in Enterprise Architecture inclusive of Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Data Architecture, Application
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field 2. Experience & Qualifications:
5 to 8 years of total experience with 4+ years on DB2
Provide database and operating system level troubleshooting support in RHEL operating environment

Enforce database naming/creation/deletion standards in the Test and Production environments.
Establish, maintain and optimize all database maintenance and backup processes.
Analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to team, management, and internal customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity.
Provide recommendations and strategies to developers on how to improve performance and scalability of their database components and assist in problem resolution.
Utilizing IBM JCL, TSO/ISPF, DB2 Utilities and IBM DB2 Tools products to administer several DB2 subsystems on different mainframe LPARS.
Implement and maintain security, backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Function as DB2 development DBA/Subject matter expert and perform general administration.
Experience in performance turning and troubleshooting.
Data modeling.
DB2 replication/ federation.
Programming expertise
Establish and maintain communication with key players. 3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of DB2 system database administration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience 4. Primary Skills:
Expertise in DB2 general administration, and performance turning.
Experience with DB2 replication to DB2 and non-DB2 targets.
Advance DB2 skills with index design, MQT, MDC and Partitioning.
Experience with DB2 data load/migration.
Scripting knowledge (UNIX)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DB2 Version 8/9 system administration.
Performing administrative functions on a RHEL platform.
Performing DB2 implementations on a RHEL platform.
Implementing and managing DB2 high-availability technologies.
Utilizing DB2 SQL, and a strong knowledge of VSAM files.
Strong mainframe DB2 administration skills with experience in IBM JCL, DB2 Utilities and IBM DB2 Tools.
Ability to design and maintain DB2 Stored Procedures, triggers and automated scripts.
